Visual Inspection

  1. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5] ).
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the plug hole plate.(See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  4. Disconnect the CMP sensor connector.
  5. Remove the CMP sensor. (See CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  6. Verify that there are no metal shavings on the CMP sensor.
    • Remove any metal shavings that are adhering.
