Body Control Module (BCM) Removal/Installation

NOTE: Perform the theft-deterrent system initialization when the BCM is replaced with a new one.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Front scuff plate (LH) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front side trim (LH) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Console panel (See CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Set the hood release lever out of the way. (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the lower panel. (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the dashboard wiring harness connector clip from the BCM.

  6. Disconnect the connectors shown in the figure.

  7. Remove the bolts shown in the figure.

  8. Raise the BCM in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull it in the direction of the arrow (2), and remove the tab from the body.

  9. Pull the BCM outward and remove the pin from the body.
  10. Remove the BCM.
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
