Body Control Module (BCM) Removal/Installation
NOTE:
Perform the theft-deterrent system initialization when the BCM is replaced with a new one.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the following parts:
- Front scuff plate (LH) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front side trim (LH) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console panel (See CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Set the hood release lever out of the way. (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the lower panel. (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the dashboard wiring harness connector clip from the BCM.
- Disconnect the connectors shown in the figure.
- Remove the bolts shown in the figure.
- Raise the BCM in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull it in the direction of the arrow (2), and remove the tab from the body.
- Pull the BCM outward and remove the pin from the body.
- Remove the BCM.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
