| DETECTION CONDITION |
- The throttle valve actuator control system is in the failure mode effects management mode.
Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
- The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is available.
- The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

| FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION |
- Inhibits the idle air control.
- Sets the upper limit of the accelerator pedal opening angle and limits the output.
- Stops the drive-by-wire control and sets to a throttle valve opening angle necessary for the minimum driveability.

- Damaged throttle body and/or PCM
- PCM malfunction
