Hood Release Cable Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Side turn lights (See SIDE TURN LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Front combination lights (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Side step molding (See SIDE STEP MOLDING REMOVAL .) (See SIDE STEP MOLDING INSTALLATION .)
    5. Front fender molding (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Front mudguard (See FRONT MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Front fender panel (See FRONT FENDER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the hood release cable from clips A.
  4. Remove the clips B
  5. Remove the hood release cable from clips C.
  6. Disconnect the hood latch from the hood release cable.
  7. Remove the grommet. (See GROMMET REMOVAL NOTE .)
  8. Remove the hood release cable from outside of the vehicle.

  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
