Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

TRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH INSPECTION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL]

NOTE:
- TR switch function is installed as one part of TCM.

TR Switch Operating Inspection

1. Perform the following inspection.

- If there is any malfunction, perform the neutral position learning procedure. Programming and Relearning

a. Verify that the starter operates only when the ignition switch is turned to the START position with the selector lever in P or N position.

b. Verify that the back-up lights illuminate when shifted to R position with the ignition switch at the ON position.

c. Verify that the positions of the selector lever and the indicator light correspond.






d. Verify that the TR PID is normal. PID/Data Monitor Inspection
