Rear Body Control Module (RBCM) Inspection: Notes
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Rear package tray (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Trunk covering (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Trunk end trim (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear seat cushion (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear scuff plate (LH) (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Tire house trim (LH) (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Trunk side upper trim (LH) (Hatchback (5HB) only) (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Trunk side trim (LH) (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the rear body control module (RBCM) from the body with the connector connected. (See REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Verify that the voltages of each of the terminals are as indicated in the Terminal Voltage Table (Reference). (See
TERMINAL VOLTAGE TABLE (REFERENCE) .)
- If the voltage is not as specified in the terminal voltage table (reference), inspect the parts under Inspection item(s) and related wiring harnesses.
- If the system does not work normally even though the inspection items or related wiring harnesses do not have any malfunction, replace the rear body control module (RBCM).
- If the voltage is not as specified in the terminal voltage table (reference), inspect the parts under Inspection item(s) and related wiring harnesses.
