DTC P0564	Cruise control switch circuit malfunction
DETECTION CONDITION	The PCM monitors the cruise control switch signal at PCM terminal 1AQ. If the PCM detects that any one of following switches (ON OFF, CANCEL, SET/-, RES/+) remains on for 2 min , the PCM determines that the cruise control switch circuit has a malfunction. Diagnostic support note This is a continuous monitor (other). The MIL does not illuminate. FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2/Mode 12) is available. The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA (MODE 12) AND DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS HAVE BEEN RECORDED Have the FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 12) and DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS (other related) been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 12) and DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED SERVICE BULLETINS AVAILABILITY Verify related Service Bulletins availability. Is any related Service Bulletins available?	Yes	Perform the repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Bulletins. If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT CLOCK SPRING CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS (PCM-SIDE/CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH-SIDE) Turn the ignition switch off. Disconnect the clock spring connector (PCM-side/cruise control switch-side). Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 9.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT CLOCK SPRING Inspect the clock spring. (See CLOCK SPRING INSPECTION ). Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the clock spring, then go to Step 9. (See CLOCK SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND Clock spring connector is disconnected. Inspect for continuity between clock spring connector (PCM-side) terminal B (wiring harness-side) and body ground. Is there continuity?	Yes	If the short to ground circuit could be detected: Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground. If the short to ground circuit could not be detected: Replace the PCM (short to ground in PCM internal circuit). (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). Go to Step 9.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS Disconnect the PCM connector. Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 9.
6		No	Go to the next step.
7	INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY Clock spring and PCM connectors are disconnected. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off). Measure the voltage between clock spring connector (PCM-side) terminal B (wiring harness-side) and body ground. Is there any voltage?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to power supply, then go to Step 9.
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION Inspect the cruise control switch. (See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH INSPECTION [LF] ). Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the cruise control switch, then go to the next step. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
8		No	Go to the next step.
9	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0564 COMPLETED Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. Drive the vehicle with cruise control 2 min or more. Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
9		No	Go to the next step.
10	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE Perform the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE". (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE ). Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE ).
10		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
