Crash Zone Sensor Removal/Installation [Standard Deployment Control System]: Notes
WARNING:
- Handling the crash zone sensor Improperly can accidentally deploy the air bags and pre-tensioner seat belts, which may seriously injure you. - Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Remove the set plate. (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the front bumper. (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the cover.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the connector. (See CONNECTOR DISCONNECT NOTE .)
- Remove the crash zone sensor.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s
and turns off.
- If the air bag system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See FLOWCHART [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
