DTC P0555-00: Vacuum Sensor 2 Circuit Problem: Notes

DTC P0555:00 Vacuum sensor 2 circuit problem
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • The PCM monitors the vacuum sensor 2 signal voltage while the ignition is switched ON. If the PCM detects the vacuum sensor 2 voltage is below 0.15 V  or above 4.8 V  for 5 s  , the PCM determines that the vacuum sensor 2 circuit has problem.

    Diagnostic support note 

  • This is a continuous monitor (other).
  • The check engine light does not illuminate.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
  • Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
  • Not applicable
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • Vacuum sensor 2 connector or terminals malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Vacuum sensor 2 terminal A-PCM terminal 2BG
    • Vacuum sensor 2 terminal C-PCM terminal 2Q
  • PCM connector or terminals malfunction
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between vacuum sensor 2 terminal C and PCM terminal 2Q
  • Vacuum sensor 2 circuits are shorted to each other
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Vacuum sensor 2 terminal A-PCM terminal 2BG
    • Vacuum sensor 2 terminal C-PCM terminal 2Q
    • Vacuum sensor 2 terminal B-PCM terminal 2AH
  • Vacuum sensor 2 malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
