Audio Unit Removal/Installation
CAUTION:
- When installing the audio unit, make sure that the wiring harness and antenna feeder are not caught between the unit and dashboard. If the wiring harness or the antenna feeder is caught between the unit and dashboard, it may cause malfunctions.
- Pressing the switch area of the audio unit when installing it could result in a malfunction. Therefore only press the hatched area shown in the figure.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the following parts:
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Center console box (See CENTER CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console panel (See CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Center console (See CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift lever knob (MTX)

- Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Climate control unit (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] .)
- Upper column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Instrument cluster (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Switch panel (See SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.PART DESCRIPTION
1 Screw 2 Bolt 3 Clip 4 Connector 5 Audio unit - Install in the reverse order of removal.
