DTC P011B-00: Engine Coolant Temperature/IAT: Correlation Error: Notes

DTC DETECTION DESCRIPTION

DTC P011B:00 Engine coolant temperature/IAT: Correlation error
DETECTION CONDITION
  • Any one of the following conditions is met, the PCM detects a circuit/range performance problem:
    • The temperature detected by the ECT sensor after engine start (1) is 29 °C {84 °F} higher than the temperature detected by IAT sensor No. 1 20 s after engine start
      • The temperature detected by the ECT sensor after engine start (1) is a certain value lower than the temperature detected by IAT sensor No. 1 at engine start. (Without block heater) (2)
MONITORING CONDITIONS
  • The following conditions are met:
    • Period vehicle being left: 6 h or more
    • Battery voltage: 8 V or more
    • The following DTCs are not detected:
  • IAT sensor No. 1: P0112:00, P0113:00
    • ECT sensor No. 1: P0117:00, P0118:00

      Diagnostic support note

  • This is a continuous monitor (engine cooling system).
  • The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION Not applicable
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • ECT sensor connector or terminals malfunction
  • IAT sensor No. 1 connector or terminals malfunction
  • PCM connector or terminals malfunction
  • ECT sensor malfunction
  • IAT sensor No. 1 malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM Not applicable
(1) Ignition switch is ON when 6 h or more have passed since the ignition was switched off.
(2) Based on the output value from ECT sensor No. 1 when the engine is started, if the input heat quantity required to increase the engine coolant temperature 3 °C {5 °F} exceeds the threshold, PCM determines that the block heater is equipped and does not determine a malfunction.
