Fuse Block Removal/Installation: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Mazda CX-5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Font scuff plate (LH) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front side trim (LH) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. LF control unit (with advanced keyless entry system) (See LF CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    CAUTION:
    • If the fuse block is removed with the fuses installed, the area around the fuse block may contact the fuses and damage the them. Before removing the fuse block, remove all the fuses.
  3. Remove all the fuses.
  4. Cut the bands shown in the figure.

  5. Remove the bolt.

  6. Remove the fuse block clip from the body.
  7. Set the removed fuse block aside so that it does not scratch the vehicle and parts.
