Auto Open Operation Not Performed [Power Liftgate (PLG) System]: Notes

CAUTION:
  • If the negative battery terminal is disconnected with the power liftgate (PLG) fully opened or half-open, the auto open/close operation is disabled. In this case, it is necessary to perform the power liftgate (PLG) initial setting when the negative battery terminal is reconnected. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
AUTO OPEN OPERATION NOT PERFORMED (POWER LIFTGATE SYSTEM) DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

Description
  • Auto open operation is not performed with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
Possible Causes
  • Liftgate opener switch malfunction
  • Liftgate latch and lock actuator malfunction
  • Power liftgate (PLG) front switch malfunction
  • Remote transmitter malfunction
  • Power liftgate (PLG) drive unit malfunction
  • Power liftgate (PLG) control module malfunction
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1Z and liftgate opener switch terminal C
    • Power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1AC and power liftgate (PLG) front switch terminal J
      • Power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1Y and power liftgate (PLG) front switch terminal I
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1Z and liftgate opener switch terminal C
    • Power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1AC and power liftgate (PLG) front switch terminal J
      • Power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1Y and power liftgate (PLG) front switch terminal I
