DTC P2540-00; Low Fuel Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem: Notes

DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

DTC P2540:00 Low fuel pressure sensor circuit range/performance problem
DETECTION CONDITION
  • Variation in fuel pressure is less than 5 kPa {0.05 kgf/cm2 , 0.7 psi} with the following conditions met.

    MONITORING CONDITIONS

    • Battery voltage: 8 V or more
    • Ignition switched ON (engine on)
    • Engine speed: 500-2, 500 rpm
    • Engine load: 0.5 %
    • The following DTCs are not detected:
      • Low fuel pressure sensor: P2541:00, P2542:00

    Diagnostic support note

  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • The check engine light does not illuminate.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
  • Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
  • Not applicable
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Low fuel pressure sensor/fuel temperature sensor connector or terminals malfunction
  • Low fuel pressure sensor malfunction
  • PCM connector or terminals malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
