MAP Sensor No. 1 Removal/Installation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the air cleaner. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the battery and the battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the following parts as a single unit: (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    • Air hose
    • Air inlet pipe
  5. Disconnect the blow-by heater connector.
  6. Set the turbocharger air inlet hose aside.
  7. Disconnect the connector for the MAP sensor No. 1 using the following procedure:
    CAUTION:
    • Do not apply excessive force when using the flathead screwdriver so as to prevent damage to the connector tab.
    1. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

    2. Pull out the connector lock in the direction of the arrow.

    3. Disconnect the connector. (See MAP SENSOR NO. 1 CONNECTOR CONNECTION NOTE .)
  8. Remove the clip from the bracket.

  9. Remove the bolts from the bracket.

  10. Remove the bracket.

  11. Remove the MAP sensor No. 1. (See MAP SENSOR NO. 1 INSTALLATION NOTE .)

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
