DTC B1495:14 (POWER LIFTGATE CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT CONNECTOR CONDITION Disconnect the foot-motion detection unit connector. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 5.
2	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR UP Reconnect all disconnected connectors. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Perform the DTC inspection for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Are the same DTCs present?	Yes	Replace the foot-motion detection sensor up, then go to the next step. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
3	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR LWR Reconnect all disconnected connectors. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Perform the DTC inspection for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Are the same DTCs present?	Yes	Replace the foot-motion detection sensor lwr, then go to the next step. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
4	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT Reconnect all disconnected connectors. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Perform the DTC inspection for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the MMDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Are the same DTCs present?	Yes	Replace the foot-motion detection unit, then go to the next step. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
5	PERFORM POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION Reconnect all disconnected connectors. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Perform the DTC inspection for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the MMDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Are the same DTCs present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the power liftgate (PLUG) control module. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
