DTC B1495:55 (POWER LIFTGATE CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED FOR POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Retrieve the power liftgate (PLUG) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is DTC U3000:49 displayed?	Yes	Replace the power liftgate (PLUG) control module, then go to step 7. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTCs Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Is the DTC displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND Switch the ignition off. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Disconnect the foot-motion detection unit and power liftgate (PLUG) control module connectors. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground: Foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C Is there continuity?	Yes	Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals: Foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C-Power liftgate (PLUG) control module terminal 1C If there is a common connector: Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground. Go to Step 7.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT Switch the ignition off. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Verify, that the foot-motion detection unit and power liftgate (PLUG) control module connectors are disconnected. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side): Foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C-Power liftgate (PLUG) control module terminal 1C Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals: Foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C-Power liftgate (PLUG) control module terminal 1C If there is a common connector: Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the No common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit. Go to Step 7.
5	INSPECT FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY Connect the foot-motion detection unit and power liftgate (PLUG) control module connectors. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Measure the voltage at the following terminals (wiring harness-side): Foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C Is the voltage 0V?	Yes	Go to next step.
5		No	Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals: Foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C-Power liftgate (PLUG) control module terminal 1C If there is a common connector: Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to power supply. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to power supply. Go to Step 7.
6	RESET INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION DATA Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster configuration with the As-Built data. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION (USING AS-BUILT DATA) .) Clear the power liftgate (PLUG) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. Retrieve the power liftgate (PLUG) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster configuration (using As-Built data) again, then go to the next step. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION (USING AS-BUILT DATA) .)
6		No	Go to Step 9.
7	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. Retrieve the power liftgate (PLUG) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Replace the foot-motion detection unit, then go to the next step. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED Clear the DTC for the power liftgate (PLUG) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. Retrieve the power liftgate (PLUG) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Replace the power liftgate (PLUG) control module, then go to the next step. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
8		No	Go to the next step.
9	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [POWER LIFTGATE (PLUG) CONTROL MODULE] .)
9		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
