Heated Steering Wheel Control Unit Removal/Installation
WARNING:
- Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. - Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Driver-side air bag module (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
- Steering switch (See STEERING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Steering wheel bezel (See STEERING WHEEL BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Steering wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Steering shift switch (With steering shift switch) (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [EW6A-EL/EW6AX-EL] .)
- While pressing the tabs of the steering wheel cover in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the steering wheel cover in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the tabs of the steering wheel cover from the steering wheel.
- Disconnect the heated steering wheel control unit connector.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the heated steering wheel control unit wiring harness from the hook of the steering wheel cover.
- Remove the heated steering wheel control unit.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
