DTC P0504:00 (PCM, SKYACTIV-G) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

| Detection condition |
- The condition in which the brake switch No. 1 and No. 2 signals are both on or off continues for 3 s or more and the condition is repeated 5 times.

| Possible cause |
CAUTION:
- Inspect the brake switch with it installed to the brake pedal, otherwise the brake switch may not operate normally. If the brake switch is removed from the brake pedal, replace the brake switch with a new one.
- Brake switch connector or terminals malfunction
- Short to ground or open circuit in brake switch No. 1 power supply circuit
- Open circuit in brake switch No. 2 ground circuit
- Body control module (BCM) connector or terminals malfunction
- Short to ground in brake switch signal circuit
- PCM connector or terminals malfunction
- Short to power supply in brake switch signal circuit
- Open circuit in brake switch signal circuit
- Short or open circuit in body control module (BCM) CAN communication line
- Brake switch malfunction
- Body control module (BCM) malfunction
- PCM malfunction
