Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation (Manual A/C)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Driver-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Driver-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Hood release lever (See HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Fuel-filler lid opener lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Center console tray (See CENTER CONSOLE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Shift bezel (See SHIFT BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Selector lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. CD player (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
    14. Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    15. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    16. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    17. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    18. Center panel (See CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the RECIRCULATE/FRESH lever knob. (RECIRCULATE/FRESH lever type climate control unit)

  4. Remove the center lower panel (See CENTER LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Press the tab down, then slide the wire off the link.

  6. Remove the wire from the wire clamp.
  7. Remove the screws.

  8. Remove the climate control unit while detaching the pins.
  9. Disconnect the connector.
  10. Pull out the each wires from the service hole.

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  12. Verify that the dial operation is correct by fully turning each of the dials from one end to the other.
  13. Verify that the RECIRCULATE/FRESH lever moves full stroke from one end to the other. (RECIRCULATE/FRESH lever type climate control unit)
