Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation (Auto A/C)

NOTE:
  • The climate control unit prior to replacement stores the vehicle specification information.
  • The new climate control unit does not store any vehicle specification information.
  • When the ignition is switched ON after the climate control unit is replaced, the climate control unit reads the vehicle specification information sent via CAN transmission from the instrument cluster, and stores the vehicle specification information.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Center console tray (without electric parking brake) (See CENTER CONSOLE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Shift bezel (without electric parking brake) (See SHIFT BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Upper panel (without electric parking brake) (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Console side panel (with electric parking brake) (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Switch panel No. 2 (with electric parking brake) (See SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)
    7. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Console side panel (without electric parking brake) (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Front console box (without electric parking brake) (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. CD player (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
    12. Front console component (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    14. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    15. Driver-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    16. Driver-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    17. Hood release lever (See HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    18. Fuel-filler lid opener lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    19. Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    20. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    21. Center panel (See CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    22. Center lower panel (See CENTER LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the screws.

  4. Remove the climate control unit while detaching the pins.
  5. Disconnect the connector.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Switch the ignition ON and perform the climate control unit automatic configuration.
  8. Perform the DTC inspection for the climate control unit using the M-MDS. (See FOREWORD [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)] .)
