DTC P2B58-00: Coolant Control Valve Circuit Problem: Notes
DTC P2B58:00 DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE
| DTC P2B58:00 |
Coolant control valve circuit problem |
| DETECTION CONDITION |
- Engine coolant control valve actuator drive current exceeds the specification.
Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
- The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
- DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
|
| FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION |
- Restricts the upper limit of the engine speed.
- PCM restricts engine torque.
- Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
|
| POSSIBLE CAUSE |
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor connector or terminals malfunction
- PCM connector or terminals malfunction
- Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor terminal A-PCM terminal 1CW
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor terminal B-PCM terminal 1CX
- Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor terminal A-PCM terminal 1CW
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor terminal B-PCM terminal 1CX
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor circuits are shorted to each other
- Short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals:
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor terminal A-PCM terminal 1CW
- Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor terminal B-PCM terminal 1CX
- Coolant control valve malfunction
- PCM malfunction
Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (Other).
- The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
- DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
