Fan Control Module Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Mazda CX-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Start and warm up the engine.
- Monitor the engine coolant temperature with the M-MDS.
- Measure the voltage at terminal A of the fan control module connector (3 terminals) as shown in the figure.
- If not within the specification, inspect the input signals from the following parts. If all the following parts are normal, replace the fan control module. (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
- Refrigerant pressure sensor
- Battery
- DSC (HU/CM)
- If not within the specification, inspect the input signals from the following parts. If all the following parts are normal, replace the fan control module. (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
