DTC P2564-00: WASTEGATE Valve Position Sensor Circuit Low Input: Notes

DTC P2564:00 DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

DTC P2564:00 Wastegate valve position sensor circuit low input
DETECTION CONDITION
  • If the input voltage at the PCM terminal 1BJ is less than 0.25 V for 5 s, the PCM determines that the wastegate valve position sensor circuit is low.

    MONITORING CONDITIONS

    • Battery voltage: 8 V or more
      • 0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)

    Diagnostic support note

  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • The check engine light does not illuminate.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
  • Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
  • Stop the supercharging pressure control. (fully open the wastegate valve)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Wastegate valve connector or terminals malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Wastegate valve terminal A-PCM terminal 1CF
      • Wastegate valve terminal E-PCM terminal 1BJ
  • PCM connector or terminals malfunction
  • Wastegate valve position sensor signal circuit and ground circuit are shorted to each other
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between wastegate valve terminal A and PCM terminal 1CF
  • Wastegate valve position sensor malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
