Power Liftgate (PLG) Touch Sensor Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Liftgate recess cover (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (With power liftgate (PLG) system) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Disconnect the connector.

  4. Remove the screw.

  5. Remove the clips.

  6. Press the clip tabs in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the clip from the liftgate.

  7. Move the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor grommet in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the tabs.

  8. Pull the wiring harness out of the vehicle body.
  9. Remove the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor.
  10. Move the clip B in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it.

  11. Remove the clip A.
  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
