DTC U0428:68 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE] DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Error signal received from steering angle sensor
Detection condition
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) receives an error signal from the steering angle sensor.
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that a difference between the angle signal received from the steering angle sensor and the angle signal received from the EPS control module is 180° or more.
Fail-safe (See DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (US)] .)
Possible cause
  • Steering angle sensor malfunction
  • EPS control module malfunction
    • Steering angle signal error
  • Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module

    (BCM))

  • Body control module (BCM) malfunction
