Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Glove compartment (without passenger-side knee air bag module) (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
    7. Connectivity master unit (CMU) (See CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the bolts.

  4. Move the telematics communication unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure above.
  5. Disconnect the connectors.

  6. Remove the wiring harness clip.

  7. Remove the telematics communication unit and the bracket as a single unit.
  8. Remove the bolts.

  9. Remove the telematics communication unit.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INSTALLATION NOTE .)
  11. If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the procedure after the telematics communication unit replacement. (See PROCEDURE AFTER TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT REPLACEMENT .)
