PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  3. Access and monitor the PCM PID/DATA monitor item [EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT] and PCM simulation item [EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD]. (Refer to PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) (Refer to SIMULATION INSPECTION .)
  4. Verify that the [EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT] PID value increases linearly, while increasing the opening angle of the exhaust shutter valve using the active command mode function of [EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD].
    • If the [EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT] PID does not increase according to the exhaust shutter valve opening angle, inspect the exhaust shutter valve. (See EXHAUST SHUTTER VALVE INSPECTION (VIN M) .)
    • If the [EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT] PID increases increase linearly according to the exhaust shutter valve opening angle, the exhaust shutter valve is normal.
