Front Brake Disc Pad Removal/Installation: Notes

CAUTION:
  • When replacing the disc pads, if a shim or guide plate is rusted, deformed, or weakened, replace the shim or guide plate with a new one. Otherwise, the disc pads may not grip properly.

Location of use: Disc pad
Wear indicator

Location of use: Disc pad

Oil and Chemical Type 

Brake grease (Brown-gray)
Type: PLASTILUBE
Brake grease (White)
Type: KLUBER
  1. Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  3. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  4. After installation, depress the brake pedal a few times, rotate the wheel by hand, and verify that the brake does not drag.
