Boost Pressure Control

  1. Connect Vacuum Tester (201 589 13 21 00) with "Y" fitting to boost pressure control/pressure control valve vacuum transducer OUT outlet fitting. With engine idling, vacuum tester should indicate greater than 300 mbar. If vacuum is as specified, go to next step. If vacuum is not as specified, go to step 3).
  2. Slowly increase engine speed to approximately 2000 RPM. Vacuum should decrease. If vacuum decreases, system is functioning properly. If vacuum does not decrease, go to next step.
  3. Repair vacuum supply or vacuum line. Repair or replace boost pressure control/pressure control valve vacuum transducer. Check Electronic Diesel System (EDS) control unit connector. Repair as necessary.
