| CHECK ENGINE malfunction indicator lamp function | The "CHECK ENGINE" malfunction indicator lamp (A1e26) is controlled by the diagnostic module or the engine control module at the ground side. To check the function of the incandescent lamp, the lamp is lit on ignition ON and for 1 second above an engine speed of approx. 500 rpm. If no fault is detected, the diagnostic module or the engine control module breaks the ground connection to the "CHECK ENGINE" MIL (A1e26) and the lamp extinguishes. |
