Test 14: Control Line Deactivation Short To Ground

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Mercedes-Benz C280 and 1996 Mercedes-Benz C220. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Using Adapter Cable (202 589 15 63 00), connect Breakout Box (124 589 00 21 00) to remote control locking control module. See Figure. Disconnect RCL control module from breakout box, leaving RCL control module harness connector attached to breakout box. Disconnect pneumatic system equipment control module harness connectors. Disconnect negative battery cable. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 3 at breakout box. If 20,000 ohms or greater exists, no shorts exist in this circuit at this time. If less than 20,000 ohms exists, repair short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
