Test 20: RCL Control Module Output Circuit SN2 (All Except SL320 & SL500)

  1. Connect adapter harness and breakout box to RCL control module. Ensure all doors are closed and unlocked. Measure voltage between terminals No. 23 and 27 at breakout box. Battery voltage should exist. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, perform TEST 1 under SYSTEM TESTS. Check RCL control module.
  2. Lock vehicle by pointing remote transmitter at left front door receiver and depressing transmitter button. Voltage should be less than one volt and Red indicator lights should blink. If voltage is as specified and Red indicator lights blink, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified and Red indicator lights do not blink, perform TESTS 1, 3 and 5 under SYSTEM TESTS. Check left front door receiver. Check RCL control module.
  3. Lock vehicle by pointing remote transmitter at right front door receiver (if equipped) and depressing transmitter button. Voltage should be less than one volt and Red indicator lights should blink. If voltage is as specified and Red indicator lights blink, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified and Red indicator lights do not blink, perform TESTS 1, 11 and 13 under SYSTEM TESTS. Check right front door receiver. Check RCL control module.
  4. Lock vehicle by pointing remote transmitter at trunk lid receiver and depressing transmitter button. Voltage should be less than one volt and Red indicator lights should blink. If voltage is as specified and Red indicator lights blink, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified and Red indicator lights do not blink, perform TESTS 1, 7 and 9 under SYSTEM TESTS. Check trunk lid receiver. Check RCL control module.
  5. Lock vehicle by pointing remote transmitter at interior rear view mirror receiver (if equipped) and depressing transmitter button. Voltage should be less than one volt and Red indicator lights should blink. If voltage is as specified and Red indicator lights blink, RCL control module output circuit SN2 is okay at this time. If voltage is not as specified and Red indicator lights do not blink, perform TESTS 1, 2, 15 and 17 under SYSTEM TESTS. Check interior rear view mirror receiver. Check DAS and RCL control module.
