Alarm triggered by interior motion sensor, function - GF80.50-P-3022B

MODEL 210 / (except 210.081 /281) up to 28.2.97 with CODE (551a) Anti-theft alarm (ATA) with CODE (552a) Anti-theft alarm (ATA) for Switzerland with CODE (882a) Interior protection (infrared)

Function prerequisites

An alarm can be triggered by the interior motion sensor only when the left and right infrared transmitter and receiver units (interior protection system) (A26/4 and A26/5) are activated by the PSE control module (combined) (A37) and the IMS function has not been deactivated with the ATA status/towing protection/IR switch (S85/2).

Function

The left and right infrared transmitter and receiver units (interior protection system)  (A26/4; A26/5) have sensor diodes which transmit infrared light through a lens system along the side windows in the passenger compartment.

The radiation is reflected in the passenger compartment and converted into an electrical voltage by the receiver diodes. An attempt to break into the vehicle, e.g. by breaking a side window, causes a change in the reflection of the IR radiation.

This change in reflection is analyzed and evaluated by the control modules integrated into the infrared transmitter and receiver units (A26/4, A26/5).

If the evaluation coincides with stored break-in patterns, the ATA control module integrated into the PSE control module (A37) receives a signal.

This signal causes the acoustic and optical ATA alarm signals to be triggered.

On the T-models the rear side windows and tailgate window are also monitored by glass breakage sensors  .

IMPORTANT

A maximum of 3 alarms in sequence can be triggered by the IMS function.
