Inhibiting remote control key, function - GF80.30-P-3003A

MODEL 129, 140 as of 1.6.96, 210 (except 210.2) as of 1.6.96 up to 28.2.97 except CODE (491) 

MODEL 170, 210.2 (except 210.281) up to 28.2.97 except CODE (491) 

MODEL 210.072 up to 31.5.96 with CODE (491) U.S. version

To prevent the vehicle from being operated with an IR remote control key which has been stolen or lost, it is necessary to inhibit the remote control with the hand-held tester (HHT). In such cases the remote control and transponder will no longer function.

The IR remote control function as well as transponder function are inhibited together.

There are two possibilities for inhibiting:

The number (1 through 8) of the remote control key to be inhibited must be determined. For this purpose the following information can be read out of the DAS infrared control module (N54/1) with the hand-held tester (HHT):
