P/N Recognition

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Automatic Transmission Only -  Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "D" terminal No. 19 and ME-SFI control module connector "A" terminal No. 2 (socket box terminals No. 51 and 2). Turn ignition on. With selector lever in "P" or "N" positions, voltage should be 11-14 volts. With selector lever in any other position, voltage should be less than 2 volts. If voltage is within specification, test is complete. If voltage is not within specification, possible causes are wiring harness failure or transmission related failure. See appropriate ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article in TRANSMISSIONS. Repair as necessary.
