As engine speed increases, the flyweights (40/4) on the curved track at the segment flange (40/2) move slowly outwards against the tension of the compression springs (40/10). The weights rotate the segment flange (40/2) of the camshaft (10/1) of the IFI [ERE] inline injection pump in the "ADVANCE" direction, thereby causing the flange to move ahead the drive hub (40/9) of the sprocket (40/6).
At engine speeds of 1500 rpm and higher, start of delivery is moved in the "ADVANCE" direction in order to compensate for ignition lag.
The advance angle is at most 23° crank angle (CKA [KW])
