Bottom dead center (A):
With the plunger at bottom dead center, fuel flows through the feed and control bore to fill the pressure chamber.
Start of delivery (B):
As the plunger moves upwards, it's upper edge shuts off the feed and control bore.
Delivery (C):
The plunger forces the fuel through the pressure valve and into the injection line.
End of delivery (D):
Delivery ends when the control edge of the pump plunger and the feed and control bore meet. The pressure chamber of the pump barrel is now connected to the suction gallery at the vertical and radial grooves. The fuel flows back into the suction gallery.
