All Activity Module (AAM) Cannot Be Programmed 

SERVICE INFORMATION

NOTE: For information only

On the above model vehicles, if you encounter occurrences where the All Activity Module (AAM) cannot be programmed properly or the AAM is not learning a key, the following information should be noted.

NOTE: Do not replace any parts to remedy this situation.
  1. Using Star Diagnosis, enter the following menus: Control Units-->Body-->AAM-->Initial Startup-->Initial startup with automatic takeover of settings of previous control unit  or Initial startup with manual settings input for new control unit. 
  2. When you reach the step labeled, "Learn radio code of a new transmitter key  ", the following additional note should be adhered to:
    1. Model Year 1998 and 1999 (up to VIN A145272), the AAM should be coded with key in position 1.
      NOTE: As of Model Year 2000 (as of VIN A145273) the AAM can be coded with key in either position 1 or 2.
  3. Follow the remainder of the on-screen instructions in STAR Diagnosis for the proper procedure for coding the AAM.
