Function of head restraint automatic adjustment function - GF91.29-P-3000A

MODEL 210.081 /281,

210 (except 210.081 /281) as of 1.3.97 with CODE (275a) Memory package (driver's seat, steering column, rearview mirrors)

MODEL 208 with CODE (275b) Memory package (driver's seat, rearview mirrors)

When the seat is adjusted manually in the longitudinal direction the position of the head restraint is automatically adjusted according to an associated curve by the driver-side ESA control module (N32/1) or passenger-side ESA control module (N32/2)  . This automatic adjustment is accomplished in four stages due to the different adjustment rates for the seat longitudinal position and head restraint position. A longitudinal change of less than 15 mm does not result in automatic readjustment of the head restraint. The automatic head restraint adjustment feature starts operating only when the longitudinal adjustment has first been moved to the front stop and the head restraint to the bottom stop (e.g. after removal and installation of control module). Moving to the stop allows the control module to coordinate the signals from the position measurement feature  and the actual position of the seat and head restraint. Manual adjustment of the head restraint or calling up a stored position has no effect on the automatic head restraint adjustment.
