COMPLAINT

The vehicle cannot be refueled.

The diesel fuel filler nozzle cannot be inserted into the vehicle's fuel filler neck.

CAUSE

The fuel filler neck protector is unable to be unlocked due to the incorrect diameter of the diesel fuel filler nozzle (too small).

This is not a manufacturing defect of the vehicle and is caused by the fuel filling stations having the incorrect filler neck diameter on the diesel refueling pumps.

REMEDY

For instances of the above complaint a guide funnel can be purchased and used to allow the fuel filler neck protector to unlock by inserting into the filler neck on the vehicle before refueling.

The instructions on the packaging must be followed. (Listed below)

Diesel Misfueling Protection Bypass Adapter

If fuel filler neck of vehicle is equipped with diesel misfueling protection system this system prevents gasoline from being pumped into the vehicle. This diesel misfueling protection bypass adapter can be used to refuel the vehicle under emergency circumstances where the fuel station is using the approved diesel fuel, but has a nonconforming sized diesel filling nozzle (for instance gasoline nozzles have a smaller 21mm diameter).

CAUTION: This product renders the misfueling protection system of your car inoperative. Misfueling protection is not ensured while using bypass adapter. Refueling with the wrong type of fuel can cause damage to the engine of your vehicle. Use only appropriate diesel fuel according to vehicle specification. Automatic pump shutoff will not function and overfilling and splashing and spilling over can occur when using this adapter. Splashing fuel can generate fire risks, health hazards and environmental risks. This diesel misfueling protection bypass adapter should only be used to refuel the vehicle under emergency circumstances and has to be removed immediately after refueling process.

Directions for use

Insert the diesel misfueling protection bypass adapter with the small diameter into the fuel-filler neck with the offset side up. Insert the diesel nozzle into the adapter and proceed with fueling using extreme caution in order to prevent splashing and spilling over.

CAUTION: When using a high flow rate commercial-sized nozzle (e.g. truck size) use minimal flow and prevent splash back. Enclosed protective gloves have to be used when handling the adapter part. Part is designed for single use, please dispose according to local regulations!
