SERVICE INFORMATION

64/00-2 GROUP 91 - MODELS 210 and 220 WITH SIDE AIRBAGS, SRS COMPONENTS: As originally stated in MB Net Message number 139 (DTB 10/99-2; MB-NET 139 ), and in Diagnostic Directory Topic AF91.60-U-6005A, when replacing the Restraint System Control Module (N2/7) or either Side Airbag Sensor (A53/1, A54/1) for any reason, all parts MUST be from the same manufacturer (Bosch or Temic).

WARNING: During the service procedure, failure to follow these instructions may result in the inadvertent deployment of the side airbags, potentially causing serious injury or death. Additionally, fault codes B1310 and B1311 (communication malfunction) may be stored in the airbag control module and it will not be possible to delete them. Note that only the Bosch Control Module is available as a spare part.
