SERVICE INFORMATION

56/00-2 GROUP 82 - All MY 01, PASSENGER CARS WITH COMAND, STAR DIAGNOSIS ERROR WHEN VERSION CODING COMAND: In the Star Diagnosis Diagnostic Assistance System (DAS), an error message may appear when attempting to version code a certain parameter into the COMAND system. Included with the 09/00 DAS software update is a 'Patch CD'. This additional patch software should be installed only AFTER installing the 09/00 DAS software update.

This additional software allows the version coding for extended telephone functions to be enabled in the COMAND head unit. Use menu path Control Modules/ Information & Communication/ D2B/ Control Unit Adaptations/ Read Coding and Change if Necessary/ Configuration of Components (Non D2B) / Telephone with Enlarged Functionality. This version coding option should be set to "Installed" when the cellular telephone is installed. If this option code is not set properly, the 'Calls' list and related features will not be available.

Please note that this software will be permanently incorporated into the 10/00 DAS update CD.
