CDI engine stop control, function - GF07.16-P-3013IC
ENGINE 647.961 in MODEL 211
ENGINE 648.960 in MODEL 220
ENGINE 648.961 in MODEL 211
Engine stop control allows the engine to be stopped with "Ignition OFF".
If the CDI control unit detects a loss of voltage at "tml. 15" "Ignition OFF", the fuel injectors are no longer actuated and the fuel pump is switched off.
The function of the quantity control valve or the pressure regulator valve is also monitored alternately (per driving cycle).
This is done by either briefly closing the quantity control valve or briefly opening the pressure regulator valve when the engine is switched off. In both cases, the rail pressure must be reduced. If this is not the case, an appropriate fault message is stored in the fault memory of the CDI control unit.
Safety fuel shutoff
If the CDI control unit receives a crash signal (when airbags are activated) from the restraint systems control unit, the CDI control unit switches the fuel pump off and depressurizes the fuel system.
