The accelerator pedal sensor (B37) converts the mechanical operation input by the accelerator pedal (foot actuation) into an electrical voltage corresponding to the accelerator pedal position.

The accelerator pedal sensor consists of a shaft with a ring magnet. The ring magnet rotates in a printed circuit board with stator in the two fixed Hall elements. This produces a change in the voltage.

Information on the accelerator pedal position is transmitted in the form of two signal voltages (0.20 to 2.25 V and 0.40 to 4.50 V) to the ME control unit (N3/10).
