The position indicator in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated by the ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3) via the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).

The program indicator in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) likewise via CAN-C.

The selector scheme symbols (87) are illuminated when the driving lamps are switched on.

Program selection "C/S" 

The program selection performed at the transmission mode switch (S16/5) remains stored after a driving time of approx.

1 minute and is then displayed once the engine is started again. The driving time of approx. 1 minute is necessary because of the system.

Program selection "M" 

The program selection "M" (Manual program) performed at the transmission mode switch (S16/5) does not remain stored. The sport program "S" is displayed once the engine is started.
