Triggering of NECK-PRO head restraints, function - GF91.16-P-2005PM
Model 203.0/ 2/ 7
Triggering function
Supplying power to the driver NECK-PRO head restraint solenoid (Y24/12) cancels the magnetic force of attraction acting on the locking lever.
The pre-compressed coil spring draws the locking lever upward and unlocks the locking detent (10).
As a result of the pre-compressed spring, the impact plate (3) moves forward and at the same time upward. This reduces the distance between the head and the head restraint.
The two crash locking mechanisms (8) engage into the toothing of both rockers.
This prevents the impact plate (3) from recoiling, caused by the driver's head being thrown back.
NECK-PRO head restraints reduce the risk of neck and spine injuries in the event of an accident. In the event of a rear end collision, they are triggered and thereby reduce the distance between the head and the head restraint. This considerably increases the potential for protection in the neck and spine area.
