Drive position display 

The current drive position is displayed in the gear indicator (A1p12) in the instrument cluster (A1).

These displays show the set selector ranges for the automatic five-speed transmission (NAG) (code 423) (1, 2, 3, 4, D, R, N, P) from the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) and the set selector ranges for the Sequentronic automated manual transmission (SEQ) (code 424) (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 6, R, N) from the automated manual transmission control unit (N15/6).

Transmission mode display 

The current transmission mode Winter "W" or Summer "S" (up to modification year 2003) and Comfort "C" or Sport "S" (as of modification year 2003) is displayed on the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1) by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) (up to modification year 2003).

On vehicles with model 211.067 and 211.267 the manual "M" transmission mode is also displayed.

The multifunction display (A1p13), gear indicator (A1p12) and transmission mode display (A1p16) appear after "circuit 15 ON".

In addition to displaying the drive position, the automated manual transmission control unit (N15/6) can also trigger warning messages in the multifunctions display (A1p13). If a detected fault causes the system to enter limp-home mode, "F" is shown in the transmission mode display (A1p16).

The required data are transmitted via the engine compartment CAN from the central gateway control unit (N93).

IMPORTANT The display is hidden in the case of incorrect CAN signals.
