Detecting rapid pressure loss, function - GF40.15-P-2004TRU

MODEL 211

with CODE (470) Tire pressure monitor (base)

with CODE (494) USA version

Function

If while driving a continuing pressure loss is established in a certain time span (gradient), a tire defect must be assumed. In this case a warning is triggered before the triggering criterion for the hard warning has even been reached. As a rule the warning takes place at the latest 60 seconds after the start of a pressure loss of more than 0.2 bar/min and is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1) as a warning message (red) "Caution: Tire defect".

Erasure condition

Due to a new initial startup of the vehicle the warning can be canceled by a successful filling detection or by manual reactivation. With an ignition restart after a leak warning the tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster is actuated first. If new pressure values exist after the start of a journey and no warning criterion is met, the tire pressure monitor warning lamp is switched off and the warning information is erased. The warning is canceled by successful filling detection or by manual reactivation.
